Dreamy and Pristine, our Downtown Cobourg New Build showcases a bright and airy open concept plan with a full butlers pantry. When we were working through the design of this beautiful kitchen space in a completely rebuilt home in old downtown, we wanted to bring in the texture and dimension of the muted cabinetry in the small details. Simple shaker doors, clean lines, decorative crown, and a custom range hood that is both simple and detailed. How to keep a clean modern look but still incorporate traditional details without feeling stuck between time......

One thing I love – and I mean love – about a brand new home is getting to see it months or even years after the final touches have been done. Newness is nice, but that lived-in feeling of a house that has settled into being a “home” is really what its all about. When we first met our clients, before the first shovel went into the ground, when the house was just an idea and the kitchen just a concept, the cutest little man in the pictures (the star of our shoot)......

Everyone wants a butler’s pantry, and I’m one of them. Actually, I also want a butler. And since I can only dream of either of them at this point, I’m going to show off this gorgeous modern farmhouse kitchen with its peek-a-boo butler’s pantry that’s just everything. The pantry is the most practical part of the kitchen. It hides the dry food and stores oils and necessities that we aren’t using at all times. If you ask me what the most overrated kitchen trend of the “aughts” was, hands-down, open shelving takes it.......

We’ve done a few photoshoots to wrap up 2019, so those can be expected in the new year. This one was one of our first new build’s, and one that we seem to repost every holiday season. Generally, we love to come back to a house 6-12 months after install. A kitchen looks better lived-in and loved. This one show how it just gets better from here. Thanks Chantelle Watt Photography, featured in The Every Mom Blog. (Check out the blog posts for links to the rug and florals) Through researches it has......

How to choose the perfect shade of white. When we were first starting out, white was white. It was also the prevailing trend for the Modern Farmhouse kitchen, and we were getting a lot of questions on the best whites for cabinetry and, well, our answer at the time was…”it’s white”. (The trend continues today: white painted shaker cabinetry is here to stay, for awhile anyways.) Since then, however, we’ve had the pleasure of installing some really gorgeous cabinetry, in all different types of exposures, and white has revealed itself to be the......

I’ve been so excited to share this before and after post. It really is a gem and a total transformation, and worth getting out there so everyone can see the possibilities. One of those (dare-I-say) shocking renovations where the pictures really speak for themselves. We started working with a great couple who were trying to figure out a way to renovate their bungalow, in a subdivision south of Lansdowne Street here in Peterborough, where all the homes trend towards the “aught’s” in all their side-split glory. The kitchen was closed-in, separate from the......
